The City of Carrollton has launched a new free mobile app, My Carrollton, offering convenient access to City services on the go.
Replacing the City’s app from 2019, My Carrollton delivers a refreshed, more powerful experience with enhanced features and new capabilities. Users can stay up to date on the latest news and upcoming events, discover hiking and biking trails, explore City facilities, pay utility bills, report concerns, browse job listings, and more. The app is free to download on iOS and Android.
“My Carrollton was built from the ground up by City IT employees, meaning we have direct control over ongoing support,” Chris Chiancone, Carrollton Chief Information Officer, said. “The goal is always to use technology for the greatest benefit of residents. With this new offering, we have expanded access to City services and introduced another convenient way of interacting with local government.”
A standout new feature is Carrie, an AI-powered City guide designed to make navigating the app effortless. With simple, conversational requests, Carrie can quickly provide answers and connect users to the information they need by linking directly to the City website.
My Carrollton makes getting involved in the community easier than ever. Dive into City events through the calendar, discover and sign up for recreation programs suited to many interests and age groups, and explore an interactive map of Carrollton’s hiking and biking trails. Users can locate nearby amenities, such as pavilions or restrooms, or even opt in to location sharing for a real-time view of their spot on the trail.
Need the City’s help to resolve an issue? When making a 311 report, users can attach photos and even choose to share their location. The app can tag the GPS coordinates of the concern and link them to the report. Citizens can request help for all kinds of needs, including street issues, sidewalk damage, emergency water turn-off requests, permit questions, restaurant safety scores, nuisance barking, and more. Explore the “311” section in the app for a full list.
My Carrollton does not require personal information to download or use. However, residents who want a more customized experience can create an account using their email, utility account number, and address to save pages, filter submitted service requests, and autofill their account number when paying utility bills.
Residents still have the option to email contactus@cityofcarrollton.com or call 972-466-3000 for assistance, in addition to the new support the app offers. Find My Carrollton on the Apple App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android, and browse other apps the City offers at cityofcarrollton.com/apps.
