Children and families can join summer reading programs in Carrollton and Farmers Branch through their local libraries.

Carrollton Public Library

The Carrollton Public Library’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge runs June 1 through Aug. 1. Readers can register through Beanstack, log minutes online or use the Beanstack Tracker app. E-books, magazines, newspapers and audiobooks count. Readers earn prizes at different minute levels, including books, prize choices, coupons and drawing tickets.

Prize pickup continues through Aug. 9 at either Carrollton library location. Drawing prize winners will be contacted after Aug. 9. Learn more here.

Farmers Branch Manske Library

The Farmers Branch Manske Library’s 2026 Summer Reading Club, “Unearth a Story,” uses challenge cards. Children can complete activities such as reading books, attending library programs, checking out a kit, completing a mix-and-match activity or choosing a book from a library display.

Completed challenge cards must be returned by July 31 to collect a challenge badge and enter grand prize drawings. Learn more here.
