Special election called for November

A special election to fill the unexpired term of City Council District 1 will be held with the Nov. 4 Constitutional Amendment, Special and Joint Election.

Candidate packets are available in the city secretary’s office in Farmers Branch City Hall, or online,  and notarized candidate applications will be accepted from Aug. 20 to Sept. 3.

A drawing will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Council Chambers in City Hall to determine the order of names to be placed on the ballot.

The Branch Herald will have candidate questionnaires available for all candidates in early September and will schedule a candidate forum before the first day of early voting on Oct. 20.

The last day to register to vote for the Nov. 4 election is Oct. 6. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Oct. 24.
