Enter your home's holiday light display for a chance to be crowned the Winner of Best Decorated Home for the Holidays contest
The Branch Herald is announcing its second annual Home for the Holidays Lights Contest and Map. Starting Nov. 19, the Herald will accept entries for the holiday lights and creative names contests via a Google form. Last year’s winners received a $100 gift card from Crossbuck BarBQ and a $25 gift card from Aussie Grind. Branch Herald is still seeking sponsors for prizes.
All addresses and home names will be placed on a website map that will be shared to those who want to know where the best holiday decorations are located in the Branch Herald readership area. The map also will contain streets and neighborhoods that are especially lit up for the holidays.
Until Dec. 10 residents of Farmers Branch, Addison and Carrollton who live south of Belt Line Road, west of the Dallas North Tollway, east of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and north of Interstate-635, or are in Farmers Branch city limits south of I-635 and west of Interstate-35, will have the opportunity to enter the contest. Maps will go on sale for $8 on Dec. 12. All proceeds will help fund Branch Herald’s community journalism. No purchase is necessary to win. Home must be in the Herald readership area to win.
Because maps will be open to the public, we ask that no one use their family name to name their residence. Last year, there were a number of entries for “Candy Cane Lane.” Only the resident of a home may list a home for the contest.
If there is a particular street that should be included on the map, you may email us at news@branchherald.com.
