Small businesses in Dallas County affected by severe weather that began April 26 and includes the May 28 storm and accompanying utility outages may receive help.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering loans and other financial assistance for economic injury only in Dallas County, though business physical disaster loans are available in other counties.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans provide working capital to help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. According to the SBA, the loans are intended to help through the disaster recovery period.

The deadline for filing for economic injury is Feb. 18, 2025. Businesses affected by the severe weather can contact the SB at disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or (800) 659-2955 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday for assistance and questions.
