Branch Herald Report
Now that Thanksgiving has passed and winter weather is upon North Texas, the Herald staff reminds residents in Farmers Branch, Addison and Carrollton to enter their homes in the news organization's second annual holiday light contest.
Holiday light maps will go on sale the evening of Nov. 12 for $8. This is a great way to support your local news organization and see the best holiday lights in the area.
Enter your home's holiday light display for a chance to be crowned the Winner of Best Decorated Home for the Holidays in the Herald reporting area.
The Best Decorated Home will win a $100 gift card from Crossbuck BarBQ. The Most Creative Home Name will win a $25 gift card from Aussie Grind.
Anyone in Farmers Branch, Addison and Carrollton is welcome to enter their addresses. Only homes south of East Beltline Rd. east of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and west of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Interstate 35 OR in the Farmers Branch 75234 zip code west of Interstate 35, north of Royal Lane, south of Interstate 635 and east of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River are eligible to win.
All addresses and home names will be shared on the Branch Herald website as part of our Holiday Lights Map for the community to drive around and see the best holiday decorations in town.
Staff takes time off for holidays
The Branch Herald will not post any non-critical stories or send any regular newsletters from Dec. 25 to Jan. 7 to provide staff time to relax and enjoy time with family. The Herald will return with the Jan. 15 newsletter and website update.
Publisher Kate Bergeron, reporter Tasha Young, interns Adin Braswell and Angelica Enriquez and copy editors Barbara Currier and Carolyn Matous thank you for your support. Without the support of our readers, there would be no Branch Herald.
The very best way to support the Herald is to buy a premium subscription. An annual subscription is $60, less than the cost of a single article, and provides access to all the stories the Herald publishes. Now is a great time to
purchase your subscription or renew your subscription. We anticipate prices will increase in 2026.
