City Council District 2 Elections

Positions for ballot drawn

Posted

City Secretary Stacy Henderson oversaw the random drawing Wednesday, Aug. 28, for the positions candidates for City Council District 2 will appear on November’s special election ballot.

Former City Councilmember Tina Bennett-Burton was the only candidate in attendance to draw for her position, and as such was allowed to draw first. She drew the No. 1 ball.

Henderson said candidate Brenda Brodrick replied to Henderson’s email invitation to say she could not attend and candidate Kristofer Cook did not respond to the invitation or appear at the drawing.

Farrah Allen, senior administrative assistant for the City of Farmers Branch, drew for Brodrick and Cook. Brodrick will appear second on the ballot, and Cook will be third.
