The Branch Herald and the StarCenter announced they have teamed up to provide Farmers Branch with a nonpartisan Candidate Forum.

The forum is set for 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21 at the StarCenter, 12700 North Stemmons Fwy.

All candidates for City Council District 2 – Tina Bennett-Burton, Brenda Brodrick and Krisofer Cook – all confirmed with the Branch Herald that they would attend.

All residents and business owners of Farmers Branch are encouraged to attend to learn more about the candidates and the issues facing the city, but only residents of District 2 can vote for the candidates in the Nov. 5 election.

A candidate forum is a live, public meeting where two or more candidates for an office present their views in short, individual speeches. The Branch Herald has received training and support from the League of Women Voters for these events.

The Branch Herald does not support or oppose any political candidate. Forums held by the Branch Herald are intended to ensure that all participating candidates are treated fairly and equally. When candidates are listed, the Branch Herald follows the list they will appear on the ballot, as drawn randomly.
