Chalked sidewalks, enthusiastic teachers and staff and perhaps a bit of nerves greeted students and parents on the first day of school, Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Students, parents and teachers celebrated the first day of school at Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District as many students attended new schools for the first time because of the district’s rezoning and consolidation plan, while construction at some buildings, particularly R.L. Turner High School challenged others.
To help parents navigate the landscape, the school district has implemented a Back-to-School Hotline, which can help in English or Spanish from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 972-968-6500 with questions.
