The Town of Addison is moving forward on two long-term community priorities: transportation planning and airport communication.
During its July 28 meeting, the Addison City Council adopted the 2026 Master Transportation Plan, updating the Town's long-range roadmap for streets, sidewalks, trails and other transportation improvements. The plan reflects projects that have already been completed while identifying future priorities designed to improve safety, mobility and connectivity throughout Addison.
According to the Town, the updated plan will help guide future investments in roadways, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, traffic calming measures and multimodal transportation options. It also incorporates recent transportation projects, including the completion of the DART Silver Line, and updates Addison's active transportation network and pedestrian planning tools.
Residents interested in learning more can watch the City Council discussion and review the transportation plan presentation on the Town's website.
The Town also announced several new resources intended to improve communication between Addison Airport and nearby residents.
As part of the Airport's Good Neighbor Program, residents can now report aircraft noise concerns through two new channels. A dedicated Airport Noise Concern Hotline at 972-392-4869 allows callers to leave information about aircraft noise events for Airport staff to review and follow up on when appropriate. Residents may also submit reports through the Town's FixIT app by selecting the Airport Noise Concern option.
Town officials said the additional reporting options support the Airport's "Wheels Up, Noise Down" initiative and are intended to make it easier for residents to communicate directly with Airport staff.
In addition, Addison Airport has published a new Frequently Asked Questions page following recent community meetings and a City Council update on the Airport Master Plan.
The FAQs address many of the questions raised during the public engagement process, including aircraft noise, flight paths, project funding, environmental review, opportunities for public participation, and what the Airport Master Plan does and does not authorize.
Residents with additional questions may contact Airport Director Jaime Edrosa by email at jedrosa@addisontx.gov.
