The Town of Addison and Addison Fire Department will celebrate the arrival of two new emergency response vehicles with a traditional push-in ceremony Saturday, Aug. 22.

The Rescue 101 and Squad 101 Push-In Ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at Addison Fire Station No. 1. The public is invited to attend and help welcome the new vehicles into service.

Push-in ceremonies are a fire service tradition dating to the days of horse-drawn equipment, when firefighters had to manually push apparatus into the station after the horses were disconnected.

The ceremony will mark the official arrival of Rescue 101 and Squad 101 to the Addison Fire Department fleet.
