Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Bring items you want responsibly recycled to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event to be held on Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Senlac Service Center, 13333 Senlac Drive, Farmers Branch, Texas. Items accepted at the event: Aerosol sprays Automotive fluids and oil filters Batteries of all kinds Chemical products for home use Cleaners and polishes Computers and cell phones Fluorescent light tubes Lawn, garden, and pool chemicals Paint Residents participating in the event will need to bring proof of residency (State issued ID or utility bill).

Blooming' Bluegrass Festival returns to Farmers Branch

Celebrate the 14th year of this award-winning bluegrass festival. Twenty-one nationally known and local artists will grace this two-day event. The 2024 line up includes Purple Hulls with Banjo Ben Clark, Texas & Tennessee featuring Steve Huber, Del McCoury Band and local artists E Flat Porc Band, Billy Law and Simon Flory, and many more. Advanced tickets are for sale through the website and are $20/day for people ages 13 and up. Weekend pass is $30 and available onlineonly. At the gate, tickets will be $25. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult. All tickets are general admission with no reserved seating. All acts and performance times are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Hotel packages are available.

Diá de los Muertos -Day of the Dead Celebration

Diá de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life and death. Join the Historical Park and the community as we welcome back and honor the souls of our deceased loved ones. Activities include musical and dance performances, Loteria, kids’ crafts, an airbrush artist and a beautiful community altar in the Old Church where attendees can pay respect and celebrate beloved family and friends. Notecards, candles, and flowers are provided to place on the altar. Attendees are invited to bring duplicate photos or mementos to lay at the community altar to honor their loved ones; items will not be returned. Festival food and beverages will be available for purchase.
