Founded in 2023, by local residents Kate Bergeron and Erin Cooper after more than a year of planning with a group of local residents as advisors, the first digital newsletter was published January 14, 2024. All stories are published on the website and hit readers’ email inboxes on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
The Herald is not affiliated with any political party or political movement within Farmers Branch. Our goal is to be an independent source of community news that is factual, objective and balanced so all Farmers Branch residents feel seen, heard and represented without our community.
PURPOSE
To be a source of fair, balanced and transparent information so all Farmers Branch residents feel seen, heard and represented within our community.
CORRECTION POLICY
Our goal and intent is to always be as factual and objective in our news coverage. However, our reporters and editors are human and sometimes make mistakes. When we learn about a factual error, we will change it as quickly as we can digitally with an editor's note so readers know a story has been corrected. We will not change quotations that give a person's perspective unless that quotation introduces incorrect information. In that case, a quotation will be removed rather than changed.
